I am so excited to watch the next installment of In Treatment tonight. I've written about this very special television show before
In Treatment goes deep into the session work of psychotherapy, with each episode focusing on a particular patient. It is a brilliantly layered half-an-hour show, highlighting powerful aspects of psychoanalysis, the healing power of therapy, as well as the character flaws and missteps the talented therapist makes along the way.

Crap...we don't have HBO. If it makes it to a DVD boxed set, I will rent :)
I just bought the DVD first year set on Amazon. And last year, HBO had some free viewings online. Maybe they'll do that again.
I don't have HBO - this would have beend wonderful to watch.
I wish I had HBO too! I think this show would be awesome to watch. Thanks for the recommendation! :)

Oooh I'm sorry I don't have HBO,that looks right up my alley!
May be my movie club has this..going to check now.
Hey, this looks pretty good. Too bad we don't have cable.
Hope you have your popcorn and soda ready!
Dang, I wish I paid for HBO. Maybe I'll get the season on DVD...
It might help my dear family / friends understand what can go on in a session.
I watched the first five sessions yesterday and today - and while they were good, I felt that the first season was more impressive.
I find Weston whiny and a bit of a masochist. Not sure I'd like working with him.

Jeremy,
I have to agree. I am more active and wouldn't allow certain issues to linger so long if I were working with any of these individuals. There are some teachable moments in the show for sure, both good and bad.
Have you ever watched "Headcase" on Starz? It's funny!!!
I loved the episodes of that one girl having a crush on him, when it turned out it was mutual. :) That was interesting - too bad it's only a half hour. He's a bit tame in my opinion - he needs more interaction and opinions if you ask me. I know that psychotherapy doesn't quite involve "opinions" really. :|
Yours is the 2nd blog I've read about this show. I'm gonna have to watch it since we have HBO.
Thank you so much, Dr. Deb, for allowing us to use this post for The Blog Carnival Against Child Abuse. :)
