Therapy was a great step for me and mu husband. We weren't seeing eye to eye. We didn't have a huge elephant in the room tacking us down. We had a thousand little mini elephants that seem to get swept under the rug, to be polite or something.

When we went to therapy, it was a last ditch effort to save a partnership that had lost it's path. i am, and will always be, eternially grateful that we went to therapy. I know it helped us talk. I know it helped keep us together.

Hugh Laurie said that? What a leap from his TV character!

I don't think I would be alive today if it weren't for therapy.

Therapy can be a source of help for couples. So glad you found it meaningful.

Yup. He said that. I thought it was rather funny - but then again, he has a comedic edge.

Therapy saved my life too.{{{hugs}}}

Therapy got me thru some tough times and provided some good advice when my wife and I were foster parents. It's helped with our marriage. It's opened up some places to see myself as not so wierd. On the flip side, it's also been an indicator of what I'm not: when you talk with a therapist who doesn't know or care where you are coming from.

Theraphy is good for those who need it. It is a shame that so many reject this kind of treatment. Talking soothes the soul and when you really feel free to discuss your inner being, it can be really healing.

Thanks for this post. It means so much for public figures to support mental health care.

Well I'm certainly a fan. It helps me see around corners I previously couldn't.

It's great when there are positive quotes like that from celebrities, it helps break the stigma associated with mental health.

I like Hugh Laurie's quote. He's been pretty open about his depression in the past and I hope his show will shed a positive light on mental illness next season.

It's never a good sign if a therapist doesn't care where you're coming from. As in all jobs, there are good therapists and bad ones.
You're right. There is still much stigma regarding seeking help.

Couldn't have said it better.

I love those moments when a therapist helps you find those blind spots.

I think it's great when celebs bring struggles to life. It is a great equalizer for us all.

YEs, you make an importnat point.

Therapy really works. By the way, do you have a little therapy tips for bloggers?

Is yoga is a type of mental therapy?

Old post... but wanted to ask how one actually finds a therapist?

I mean, we can't just walk in off the street and get assistance, right?
