Deb: I being a Canadian, think that change will be really good for the U.S.Theres always going to be racism, everywhere in the world not just the U.S., and I think its time people realize that the colour of someones skin doesnt matter one bit.
Funny how Canada shows all the news about the election on our T.V. Stations, and even in the bars around where I live and Toronto, people were watching it their.
The U.S. never shows any Canadian news ever, or talks about anything going on in Canada, Interesting isn't it?..take care..Mary
I heard something today that I never really thought about.
Someone was looking at a graphic of all the past presidents and Obama had been added and they commented that 11 (I believe that was the number) of those past presidents had been slave owners.
Wow.
It really struck me and I truly hope that with this historic election we can put to bed so many of the ridiculous prejudices we have has through history.
It should begin with some members of my own family that I want to shake and wake them up to this century.
now the only problem is he doesnt actually know where australia is so if one of you guys can point us out preferably NOT of a picture of our prime minister sharing a kimono with george bush then all will be good
Hi Deb! It is about time huh? I think it will be good for all of us. When is the last time we saw this much excitement and hope on the faces of Americans? I was too little to get the Kennedy era, and have been sad that we had to pick the best of the worst every four years or so. I am again hopeful and very happy with the new leadership come Jan 2009! Gobama!
Ahh I love it. I remember my mom telling me as I was growing up "There will never be a black president in your life time nor will there be a woman in office" Well both tried this year and one out of two did it! I LOVE IT!!! Just goes to show that we as a nation are starting to break down the walls the past generations worked so hard to put up.

Hey everyone
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Excellent. I'd like to use this on my blog!
I love this!
Love this picture. But it reminds me also of what is still missing in the White House. Maybe some day, we'll hear the phrase, "Madame President."
