I gave a magic 8-ball to the residents for Labor and Delivery for Christmas. Now when they call me, saying they think they should do a c-section, I respond with "What did the magic-8 ball say?". It's quite a hilarious addition to patient care. :)

I don't like when she tells me that she won't see me unless I weigh a certain weight, Dr. Deb. That got me a bit angry...for a while too.
I think all therapist collude with one another to come up with all of these sayings. Ha!!
PTC- I'm pretty sure "collude" is in the big book of key terms and phrases that all therapists are required to memorize.

You had better be careful..your therapy sessions may be outsourced :)
Might just make therapy faster and easier. Just walk into the office, shake the ball, get your answer and walk out. There used to be a computer program that did something like that, it would parse your answer and using some of the key words, would re-write them into a question. Seemed almost real. ;o)
"That's a behavior" is also a big one. They (you guys) like to say that one a lot.
For the Trekkies in the crowd, the Magic 8 ball could respond in the voice of ship's counselor Deanna Troi who responds insightfully to the captain's request for her analysis of the alien squid who is about to devour the star ship Enterprise and turn the crew into neutron particles: "I sense anger, Captain."

That's fantastic! I wonder if it has any Dr. Philisms like "just deal with it"...which actually some folks need to hear (although a bit more tactfully if they are in pain!).
